Description
The painting is full of muted colors. The background looks like an old house, colored grey that makes it look like the house is being made out of cement. There are different shades of muted green that look like mold or shadows because of dim light. There is also the blue color that is at the inside of the house that can be seen through the windows.
The person that is the center of the painting is a person covered in a deep red material that looks thick. It looks like a quilted cover that covers the person’s whole body, minus the hand that is holding the bowl on the person’s head. The bowl on the person’s head is blue and deep, that is probably full with something. The figure is carrying it down what we can assume to be a road.
Most of the figure is covered in darkness and shadow. The painting is lit dimly from the right and that is why one can only see a little bit of the figure. The light also makes the painting look like it is drawn to look like a middle of the night.
The painting makes you feel like the figure on it is going home after a hard day of work, carrying the things they need.
