Art Work: Looking at you in my memories

Description

The painting is composed mostly of brown hues, and plays with texture and shadow in order to distinguish the body of the woman from the background. The body and the wall are a slightly different shade too. The wall behind the subject of the scene  looks like it is made of stone, as if it was the wall of a house.

The woman has no clothes on and is either sitting or standing near that wall. Her hand placement suggests that she is sitting and has her hands in her lap. The texture on the wall makes it look like its old and cracked.

The loudest, most vivid color in the painting is the purple belonging to the woman’s hair, and the orange of her lips. Her hair is curly and large, falling just past her shoulders. The painting has a calm quality to it, as if someone took a Polaroid of a moment. The woman’s face is calm too, as if she is sitting with someone familiar and is enjoying their company. It could be a painting one would find in an old painting album, where an older person would reminisce about the moment with a smile on their face.
