Nature spirit: woman standing naked next to a stream or river

Description

The painting depicts a woman standing naked next to a stream or river. The few branches that would normally obstruct her face are spread apart by her hands so she can see. She has dark brown hair that goes down her back. It hangs over her shoulder on one side and appears to be straight in texture. Her expression seems to be one of pride and that is accentuated by her posture. She is comfortable where she is and what she sees does not surprise or horrify her. She might have expected to see it even, and if one starts at it enough, you could almost see challenge in her face. Half of her body is in the shade of a tree we can assume stretches above her, blocking the sun.  She is standing on her tip toes on what might be a bank or even a rock in the middle of the water. There is what looks like a necklace made of leaves around her neck.

The painting has a mix of soft green colors that meld together to show the vibrancy and life of the place where the woman is and slight pops of blues and browns mostly concentrated at the bottom of the painting that indicate the speed of the water behind the woman. The skin of the woman has a greenish tint that connects her to the space she is at, and the brush moves make the painting take on a dream-like quality.
