The rainbow beard, wears a mask to fit in

Description

The background of the painting is a vignette of light blue and brown gradient. It looks calm and like old paper. The background doesn’t really point to a place or a state; it is as unidentifiable as it can be. The real thing the painting concentrates on is the subject.

In the middle of the painting there is a rainbow flowing from the top towards the bottom.  The rainbow looks like it has a mask on it. The mask forms a face, making the rainbow below it look like a beard, and the top of the rainbow looks like hair, with even strands of hair falling over the forehead. You can also see the rainbow through the eye holes.

You can distinguish the part where the eras are covered by the rainbow and the part where the rainbow covers a part around the nose.

If one stares at the painting, one can’t quite figure out if it is a man made out of a rainbow, or a rainbow who has a mask over it. The absence of a mouth and any part of the face under the cheekbones makes the mask theory more likely, though the sides of the rainbow that condense in order to mimic the place on a head where the hair would go over the ears

Either way you see it the painting combines colorfulness and neutral colors very well. It makes you think about identity.
